Whether you renovate, start from scratch or rebuilt.
There are so many items on the To Do List. I want to guide you and make it easier.
Here follows a guideline to help you priorities
1 Flooring - tiles, carpets, wood, laminated flooring
2 Walls - paint color
3. Lighting & switches
4. Built in cupboards/doors and carpentry
5. Trimmings like facets,fixtures and taps
6 Furniture,rugs, blinds, curtains and decor is like the lipstick in the end.
Flooring ; Natural color that gives flow and display as a unit.
Make sure the transition between rooms and spaces are flowing and not contrasting.
It is wise to use the same from front door through passageways and open living spaces.
Nowadays you ha8ve tiles that replicates wood and wooden flooring that compliment each other. So if you opt for laminated flooring in you bedroom and tile in the passage the transition is not that big of a deal.
Walls: warm natural colors are always a winner, but if you love a pop of color go for it and make it your vocal point. A brush of paint or change of wallpaper is more cost effective then to change flooring.
Tip # It is save to start your canvas with natural colors and color it in with decor,
Lighting : This is a fixture in the house that you do not opt for cheap ones. It is the one thing that add value to your property. Do not make quick decisions and dont leave it for last. Make sure you budget enough for lights and switches and rather buy a cheaper coffee table or sofa. Get an experts advice for the correct spacing and measurements. Lighting make an impression and need to last.
Cupboards and built in wardrobes do not have to be expensive, make wise decisions and make your appointment early to make sure it is done by the time you move in.
Overtime I have learned that you need more hanging space and drawers then shelves.
Trimmings,facets,baths and taps
My favorite part. I Love to play around with the different "colors", This a subject I will touch on in a later stage. How to mix the color and make it work, Bronze,gold,silver,black etc.
